Kai Hoffman-Krull– CEO
He holds a Master of Arts in Literature from Yale University, where he co-founded the Yale literary review Letters. Kai balances a career writing poetry for choral music and Forage. He has eight years of agricultural experience, and has been developing the Forage homestead since 2012.
Joe Freeman Jr. – Journalist
Forage is honored to work with the photographer Joe Freeman Jr, who produced the photographs for Flame. Joe has an MFA in Photography from the University of Washington, and specializes in landscapes. Joe is currently building a camera from the landscape itself on the Forage homestead.
Bill Schmidt – Board Member
Bill is the Grants Director for Catholic Community Services of Western Washington (CCS) overseeing grant proposals and reports annually for an aggregate value in excess of $12,000,000. Bill's ideal day is fly-fishing in the rivers of Montana out away from things. He first suggested the idea of Forage on the steps of a half-built cabin in the summer of 2013.
David Yake – Board Member
David is the Director of Sales and Education at Tony’s Coffee, where he is blessed to work with creative small business owners throughout the West Coast. David also participates in green coffee sourcing, visiting coffee farmers in Central and South America. He keeps the team over-caffienated and has broken two of Kai's chainsaws.
Simon Windell – Board Member
Simon is currently responsible for sourcing strategy and deal construction for a large portion of the hardware and software that Accenture Consulting uses and implements. Simon holds a diverse background ranging from collegiate fluid dynamics research, commercial photography, software development, and wilderness horse-packing. He is equally passionate about understanding, communicating and influencing the role that technology plays in our lives as he is about ditching screens and getting into the woods.
